Abstract
► Hepatitis C virus (HCV) induces unfolded protein response and autophagy. ► We suggest that UPR-autophagy pathways exert an influence on HCV replication. ► We lead to the notion that HCV may hijack the UPR-autophagy pathway for HCV. ► Control these pathways may serve as a novel therapeutic strategy against HCV.
