Abstract
► The HSF1 stress response pathway has been genetically implicated in glucose regulation and insulin resistance. ► HSP90 inhibitors activate the HSF1 pathway, improve glucose regulation, and augment insulin signaling. ► HSP90 inhibitors prevent diabetes in diabetic mouse models and improve glucose metabolism. ► Pharmacological support for a new therapeutic strategy for type 2 diabetes.
