Abstract
												⺠OxLDL rapidly activates both aerobic and anaerobic metabolic pathways in the macrophage. ⺠L-4F can inhibit the aerobic respiratory response and prevent respiratory burst. ⺠L-4F and the DMPC/L-4F complexes attenuated the macrophage respiratory burst in response to oxLDL. ⺠L-4F showed most attenuation and reversal of the response when coupled with oxLDL prior to exposure.
