Abstract
⺠Protocatechualdehyde (PCA) suppressed cell proliferation and induced apoptosis in human colorectal cancer cells. ⺠PCA enhanced transcriptional downregulation of cyclin D1 gene. ⺠PCA suppressed HDAC2 expression and activity. ⺠These findings suggest that anti-cancer activity of PCA may be mediated by reducing HDAC2-derived cyclin D1 expression.
