Abstract
⺠Extremely low-frequency magnetic fields (ELFMF) reduce cell viability. ⺠The drop in viability is concomitant with an increase of early apoptosis. ⺠Cell exposure to ELFMF stimulates microvesicle (MV) release. ⺠ELFMF causes poration of the plasma membrane and stimulates lysosomal exocytosis. ⺠ELFMF-induced poration increases intracellular calcium, stimulating MV release.
