Abstract
⺠We isolated and characterized a novel NHX gene, EgNHX1, from Eucalyptus globulus. ⺠We performed complementation studies using a Na+ sensitive yeast mutant strain. ⺠EgNHX1 overexpression conferred plant tolerance to increasing NaCl concentrations.
