Abstract
⺠NHERF1 and NHERF2 differentially interact with the glutamate transporter, GLAST. ⺠NHERF1 interacts with GLAST in the ER to facilitate the ER exit of GLAST. ⺠Transit from NHERF1 to NHERF2 of GLAST occurs in the ERGIC. ⺠NHERF2 also interacts with GLAST in the plasma membrane and endosomes. ⺠NHERF1 and NHERF2 modulate the cell surface expression of GLAST.
