Abstract
⺠We studied exocytosis in chromaffin cells of Alzheimer's disease (AD) APP/PS1 model. ⺠Single spike quantal size and half-time were halved as compared to control mice. ⺠Brains of APP/PS1 mice exhibited abundant amyloid beta plaques (Aβ). ⺠However no Aβ burden or alterations in innervation were found in adrenal medullae. ⺠Exocytosis alterations in the peripheral nervous system in AD had not been reported.
