Abstract
► A novel method to purify hydrophobic C-type lectin proteins (CLPs) was developed. ► The proteins were cloned, expressed and purified by sonication and wash steps. ► The purified CLPs had a yield 38 times higher than the traditional method. ► The CLPs from snake venom inhibited platelet aggregation with an IC50 of 100.57 μM. ► These snake protein types are useful in the development of novel drug therapies.
