Abstract
⺠A novel method to purify hydrophobic C-type lectin proteins (CLPs) was developed. ⺠The proteins were cloned, expressed and purified by sonication and wash steps. ⺠The purified CLPs had a yield 38 times higher than the traditional method. ⺠The CLPs from snake venom inhibited platelet aggregation with an IC50 of 100.57 μM. ⺠These snake protein types are useful in the development of novel drug therapies.
