Abstract
► Rds2 is required for growth on nonfermentable carbon sources. ► Gluconeogenic genes PCK1 and SIP4 expression is abolished in a Δrds2Δcat8 strain. ► Rds2 binds to the genes SIP4, ADR1 and HAP4 encoding transcriptional regulators. ► Gene targets of Rds2 significantly overlap with Adr1 targets. ► Interplay among regulators provides flexible regulation of carbon metabolism.
