Abstract
► Acetaldehyde-derived DNA adducts may play a crucial role in carcinogenesis. ► The stability of a major DNA adduct N2-ethylidene-2′-deoxyguanosine is not known. ► DNA adduct was analyzed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. ► The half-life of DNA adducts was estimated as 35 h in vitro in HL60 cells. ► Acetaldehyde exposure from daily alcohol drinking may cause DNA damage.
