Abstract
► Estrogens attenuate ALDO-induced oxidative stress in VSMC via increased NADPH generation. ► Estrogens do not block aldosterone-induced increase in NADPH oxidase activity. ► Aldosterone impairs expression and activity of the NADPH-generating enzyme G6PDH. ► Estrogens preserve the expression and activity of G6PDH.
