Abstract
⺠Prostate epithelial cells respond to caffeine, a ryanodine receptor activator. ⺠Tumor lines DU-145 expressed RyR type 1, LNCaP only expressed RyR2. ⺠Non-tumor prostate epithelial PWR-1E cells expressed RyR types 1 and 2. ⺠Non-excitatory cells have RyRs, but isoform does not predict tumorigenicity.
