Abstract
⺠Ischemia/reperfusion injury (IRI) induced increased endothelin-1 (ET-1) expression. ⺠IRI was accompanied by tubular injury and remodeling of renal arteries. ⺠IRI increased oxidative stress and inflammation. ⺠Genetic suppression of ET-1 in endothelial cells attenuates IRI in the kidney. ⺠The mechanisms include the inhibition of oxidative stress and inflammation.
