Abstract
⺠Vascular endothelial insulin/IGF-1 signaling not essential for vascular skin homeostasis. ⺠Wound neo-angiogenesis is strongly reduced upon loss of vascular insulin/IGF-1 receptors. ⺠Endothelial Insulin resistance can directly contribute to diabetic foot ulcers. ⺠Potential for treatment of this important economic and health problem.
