Abstract
⺠Pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) promote the progression of pancreatic cancer. ⺠Pancreatic cancer cells co-cultured with PSCs showed enhanced spheroid formation. ⺠Expression of stem cell-related genes ABCG2, Nestin and LIN28 was increased. ⺠Co-injection of PSCs enhanced tumorigenicity of pancreatic cancer cells in vivo. ⺠This study suggested a novel role of PSCs as a part of the cancer stem cell niche.
