Abstract
► A highly glycosylated, WGA lectin-binding protein, WGA-gp, was found in pig sperm. ► WGA-gp is localized mainly in flagellum and enriched in membrane microdomains. ► WGA-gp contains both N- and O-glycans consisting of neutral monosaccharides. ► WGA-gp may be involved in intracellular Ca2+ regulation. ► Flagellasialin of sea urchin sperm has structural and functional similarity to WGA-gp.
