Abstract
⺠A highly glycosylated, WGA lectin-binding protein, WGA-gp, was found in pig sperm. ⺠WGA-gp is localized mainly in flagellum and enriched in membrane microdomains. ⺠WGA-gp contains both N- and O-glycans consisting of neutral monosaccharides. ⺠WGA-gp may be involved in intracellular Ca2+ regulation. ⺠Flagellasialin of sea urchin sperm has structural and functional similarity to WGA-gp.
