Abstract
⺠L. donovani Ribose 5-phosphate isomerase B (LdRpiB) is cloned and characterized. ⺠The presence of dimer of dimers i.e. tetramer form of LdRpiB is reported. ⺠The RpiB enzyme is found to be present in L. donovani promastigotes. ⺠The recombinant LdRpiB obeys classical Michaelis-Menten Kinetics. ⺠We propose that LdRpiB enzyme could be a potential antileishmanial drug target.
