Abstract
⺠LPS induces ACE shedding from endothelial cells by a metalloproteinase. ⺠LPS induced ACE shedding requires NF-κB, protein synthesis, TNFα and TNFRI/II. ⺠The LPS activated ACE secretase is ADAM9. ⺠Soluble TNFα does not activate ADAM9 dependent shedding of ACE. ⺠Phorbol ester (PMA) does not induce ACE shedding in endothelial cells.
