Abstract
► The interaction between muscle and bone metabolism has recently been noted. ► A reduction of FAM5C reduces differentiation in differentiated osteoblasts. ► FAM5C produced in myoblastic cells enhances differentiation of osteoblasts. ► FAM5C may be an important humoral bone anabolic factor produced by muscle cells.
