Abstract
► Trans-membrane murine gap junction protein Cx43 was expressed in Dictyostelium discoideum. ► The expression Cx43 and Cx43-eGFP was confirmed by Western blot and fluorescence microscopy. ► The analysis by flow cytometry demonstrated that more than 60% of cells expressed Cx43-eGFP. ► Cx43 expressed in transfected cells retained Ca2+-dependent hemi-channel functions.
