Abstract
⺠Sphingomyelin headgroup is necessary for ligand binding to serotonin1A receptors. ⺠Removal of sphingomyelin headgroup does not alter hippocampal membrane order. ⺠Our results show the importance of sphingomyelin in receptor function.
