Abstract
⺠A cDNA encoding a novel plant prolyl aminopeptidase, TsPAP1, was obtained from triticale. ⺠The cloned TsPAP1 cDNA is 1387 bp long and encodes a protein of 390 amino acids. ⺠The deduced TsPAP1 protein revealed characteristics of the monomeric bacterial PAPs. ⺠The TsPAP1 mRNA level increased under drought, salinity and in the presence of metal ions.
