Abstract
► A cDNA encoding a novel plant prolyl aminopeptidase, TsPAP1, was obtained from triticale. ► The cloned TsPAP1 cDNA is 1387 bp long and encodes a protein of 390 amino acids. ► The deduced TsPAP1 protein revealed characteristics of the monomeric bacterial PAPs. ► The TsPAP1 mRNA level increased under drought, salinity and in the presence of metal ions.
