Abstract
⺠We created Mov cell lines whose Chst8 gene is silenced or overexpressed. ⺠No changes of the total sulfated glycosaminoglycans amount are measured. ⺠The chondroitin sulfate amounts are increased in silenced clones. ⺠The amounts of 4-sulfated chondroitin are increased in silenced clones. ⺠The Chst8 silencing decreases the ability for conversion into PrPSc.
