Abstract
⺠AMPK phosphorylates VASP at a novel site, serine 322, and not at known PKA sites. ⺠Phosphorylation prevents VASP binding to actin filaments. ⺠Inhibition of AMPK phosphorylation results in VASP accumulation at cell-cell contacts. ⺠Inhibition of AMPK phosphorylation results in increased cell-cell adhesion.
