Abstract
⺠Hypoxia is a microenvironmental pathologic factor associated with inflammation. ⺠MCP-1 is one of the crucial cytokines in inflammation. ⺠We examine the mechanisms of the repression of MCP-1 expression under hypoxia. ⺠DNA methylation is attributed to IL-1β-induced MCP-1 expression by hypoxia. ⺠DNA methylation is associated with transient transcriptional repression.
