Abstract
► We examine in vivo function of AREBP as a regulator of gluconeogenesis. ► We created mice which overexpressed AREBP in order to investigate its function. ► AREBP strongly repressed gluconeogenesis gene expressions in the presence of AICAR. ► AREBP is a key modulator of hepatic glucose production regulated by AMPK in vivo.
