Abstract
⺠eIF5B like factor from P. sativum is a thermostable protein. ⺠PeIF5B displays chaperone like activity. ⺠PeIF5B prevents aggregation and loss of activity of heat labile proteins under stress conditions. ⺠GTP enhances the chaperone like property of PeIF5B. ⺠Under in-vivo conditions PeIF5B expression rescues growth of E. coli from high temperature stress.
