Abstract
► eIF5B like factor from P. sativum is a thermostable protein. ► PeIF5B displays chaperone like activity. ► PeIF5B prevents aggregation and loss of activity of heat labile proteins under stress conditions. ► GTP enhances the chaperone like property of PeIF5B. ► Under in-vivo conditions PeIF5B expression rescues growth of E. coli from high temperature stress.
