Abstract
⺠We transfect preadipocytes stably with antisense lipocalin-type PGD synthase. ⺠The transfection specifically suppresses the synthesis of prostaglandins D2. ⺠The cloned transfectants exhibit a significant stimulation of fat storage. ⺠Up-regulation of adipogenesis occurs in a PG-independent manner in those cells.
