Abstract
⺠Inhibitors of tetrapyrrole cofactor biosynthesis may be useful antibiotics. ⺠Mechanism of critical enzyme, glutamate-1-semialdehyde aminomutase, is presented. ⺠Unique vitamin B6-dependant enzyme traps intermediate in active site. ⺠Molecular dynamics show that a re-orientation of the substrate is required.
