Abstract
⺠Solution structure of a scorpion insecticidal toxin LaIT1 is determined. ⺠LaIT1 exhibits a new class of inhibitory cystine knot (ICK)-like fold. ⺠LaIT1 has no sequence similarity to all the other known ICK-fold peptides. ⺠Two arginine residues are important to the insecticidal activity of LaIT1.
