Abstract
⺠We isolated a novel aerobic dieldrin-degrading bacterium using soil-charcoal perfusion method with structural analog of dieldrin. ⺠This bacterium was closely related species with Pseudonocardia spp. and named strain KSF27. ⺠Strain KSF27 degraded dieldrin from 14.06 μM to 2.01 μM during 10 days. ⺠Strain KSF27 degraded not only dieldrin but also other persistent organochlorine pesticides. ⺠We proposed metabolic pathway of dieldrin transformation by strain KSF27.
