Abstract
► Amlodipine antioxidant and antiinflammatory ability to repair endothelial dysfunction. ► Reduced p22phox, NOX4, iNOS expression, NADPHox activity, 4-HNE and 3-nitrotyrosine. ► Reduced MCP-1 and VCAM-1 expression and number of monocytes adhered to endothelium. ► Decreased phosphorylation of p38 MAPK and p65 NF-κB subunit. ► Amlodipine may improve endothelial dysfunction in diabetes.
