Abstract
► Soluble FGFR4 extracellular domain (FGFR4-ECD) was effectively expressed. ► FGFR4-ECD inhibited FGF19-induced activation of FGFR4 signaling. ► FGFR4-ECD reduced palmitic acid-induced steatosis of HepG2 cells. ► FGFR4-ECD reduced tetracycline-induced fatty liver in mice. ► FGFR4-ECD partially restored tetracycline-repressed PPARα expression.
