Abstract
⺠Linezolid, the first marketed oxazolidinone antibiotic is a MAO-A inhibitor. ⺠MAO-A enzyme regulates the catabolism of monoamine neurotransmitters in the brain. ⺠Depression is associated with functional deficiency of catecholamine neurotransmitters in synaptic cleft. ⺠Linezolid showed anti-depressant-like effect in rodent's behavioral model.
