Abstract
⺠Chronic angiotensin II exerts a stimulatory effect on NHE3 activity and expression. ⺠Increase in NHE3 mRNA levels is not related with change in NHE3 mRNA stability. ⺠The stimulatory effect on NHE3 promoter activity involves Sp1/Egr-1 binding site. ⺠NHE3 promoter stimulation depends on the activation of several intracellular pathways.
