Abstract
⺠Concentration of A1I3, an acute phase response protein circulating in the serum decreased proportionately to the REM sleep loss. ⺠The level of ALT and AST in the serum increased proportionate to the extent of REM sleep loss. ⺠Pro-Inflammatory cytokines like IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-12 & IFN γ in the blood were found to be modulated. ⺠REM sleep deprivation up regulated IL-1 β, IL-1 β r, and IL-6, IL-6r genes expression in the liver.
