Abstract
⺠The majority of neurons synthesizing a satiety mediator, oxytocin, coexpress Fto. ⺠The level of colocalization is similar in the male and female brain. ⺠Fto overexpression in hypothalamic neurons increases oxytocin mRNA levels by 50%. ⺠Oxytocin does not affect Fto expression through negative feedback mechanisms.
