Abstract
► ATP6v0d2 is not required for OVX-induced trabecular bone loss. ► TRAP+ osteoclasts formation and total TRAP activity were increased in ovariectomized WT and ATP6v0d2 KO mice compared with the corresponding SHAM controls. ► WT and ATP6v0d2 KO mice exhibited the equivalent number of CFU-GM in their SHAM and OVX mice, respectively. ► ATP6v0d2 regulates the late stage of osteoclast maturation following estrogen withdrawal. ► ATP6v0d2 has critical role in bone remodeling under normal physiology but not in stressed condition.
