► Celecoxib inhibits leukotriene B4 synthesis in tumor cells cultured in vitro. ► Leukotriene B4 reverses celecoxib-mediated inhibitory effect in HT-29 cells. ► 5-Lipoxygenase pathway is critical for survival of HT-29 cells rather than PC-3 cells.
