Abstract
► PRIMA-1 induces a nucleolar redistribution of mutant p53 in breast cancer cells. ► PRIMA-1 does not affect the level of mutant p53 phosphorylated at S392 and S15. ► PRIMA-1 triggers mutant p53 degradation via ubiquitylation in MDA-MB-231. ► Low level of mutant p53 sensitizes MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells to PRIMA-1.
