Abstract
⺠Rosuvastatin, an inhibitor of the enzyme 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, causes significant decrease in inflammatory microglia in the brain of WT and ApoEâ/â mice. ⺠Rosuvastatin also decreases IL-6 levels in plasma and the brain. ⺠This has important implications for prevention of neurodegenerative disease such as Alzheimer's disease.
