Abstract
⺠We generated vacuolar protein sorting (Vps) 26b knock mice. ⺠Vps26b-deficient mice showed a severe reduction of Vps35 protein levels and lacked the Vps26b-Vps29-Vps35 retromer complex. ⺠The levels of sortilin is increased approximately 20% in the Vps26b-deficient mice. ⺠More p75NTR was immunoprecipitated with sortilin antibody from Vps26bâ/â brains than from wild-type brains. ⺠Vps26b-Vps29-Vps35 retromer complex is implicated in the transport of sortilin from endosomes to the trans-Golgi network (TGN).
