Abstract
⺠The cDNAs encoding Par6 and aPKC homologues were cloned from the snail Lymnaea stagnalis. ⺠L. stagnalis Par6 directly interacts with tubulin and microtubules and localizes to the microtubule cytoskeleton during the early embryogenesis. ⺠Identical sequence and localization of LsPar6 for the dextral and the sinistral snails exclude the possibility of the gene being the primary determinant of body handedness.
