Abstract
⺠THAP5 is a DNA-binding protein and a transcriptional repressor. ⺠THAP5 is induced in melanoma cells upon exposure to UV or treatment with cisplatin. ⺠THAP5 induction correlates with the degree of apoptosis in melanoma cell population. ⺠THAP5 is a pro-apoptotic protein involved in melanoma cell death.
