Abstract
⺠Cultured astrocytes contain complexin II (Cpx II) but not complexin I protein. ⺠Serum withdrawal for 24 h results in upregulation of Cpx II. ⺠Cpx II is a likely key modulator of synaptic activity at the level of astrocytes. ⺠Astrocytic Cpx II represents a potentially important therapeutic target for the future treatment of neurologic and psychiatric maladies.
