Abstract
⺠The proteasome inhibitor MG132 increases the levels of both endogenous and exogenous DLC1 proteins in HEK293 and Hep3B cells. ⺠DLC1 is an unstable protein that is degraded by the 26S proteasome in Hep3B cells. ⺠Five putative PEST motifs are located in the N-terminus of DLC1. ⺠Deletion of the PEST motifs decreases the intracellular stability of the N-terminus of DLC1.
