Abstract
⺠Melittin was studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. ⺠Mellitin causes a drop in membrane resistance, followed by recovery. ⺠Melittin does not alter the bilayer capacitance. ⺠The results are not consistent with a simple transmembrane pore model.
