Abstract
⺠Disease mutants provide insights into gap junction function in ear/skin function. ⺠Selective loss of IP3 permeability in NSHL, implicates Ca++ waves in normal hearing. ⺠Increased hemichannel activity causes cell death associated with dominant skin disease.
