Abstract
⺠T-type calcium channels mediate calcium entry near the resting membrane potential. ⺠Increasing evidence supports a role of T-type channels in low-threshold exocytosis. ⺠We review their implication in vesicular neurotransmitter release. ⺠We propose a mechanism by which T-type channels trigger vesicular exocytosis.
